Salisbury Steak

Just plain old goodness.  Enjoy!

Your host, Brad

1 1/2 lbs. ground beef chuck
1 1/4 tsp salt
Pepper to taste
2 teaspoons grated onion
1 egg, beaten
Melted butter

Combine all ingredients except butter and mix together lightly.  On a buttered shallow baking pan, mold the meat into the shape of an oblong steak.  Brush top and sides with melted butter and place in a hot over, about 450F.  Bake 10 minutes, then reduce heat to 350F to finish cooking, which will take about 25 minutes more.

You can baste with additional butter about every 10 minutes.

Serve with Tomato Sauce, Mushroom Gravy, or just as is.
