Raisin Sauce

What a more traditional American sauce is there than Raisin Sauce? (of course maybe barbecue sauce).   Poured over ham, it accompanies the porcine slab wonderfully.  Enjoy!

Your Host,  Brad

1 Tbl plus 1 tsp flour
1 Tbl dry mustard
4 Tbl light-brown sugar
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
1 1/2 cups unsweetened apple juice
1/4 tsp salt (optional)
1/2 cup raisins

Put the flour, mustard, brown sugar, lemon juice and 1/2 cup of the apple juice in a small saucepan.  Stir until the mixture is smooth and blended.  Turn the heat to medium and add the remaining cup of apple juice, the salt and the raisins.  Cook, stirring, for about 5 minutes.  Serve warm or it keeps well in the refrigerator.
