Hamburger Noodle Casserole
Before the packaged version, folks
actually made this from scratch! A quick and easy dinner that is filling;
serve with a side salad.

2 Tbl butter
3/4 lb. ground beef chuck
1 medium onion, sliced
1 cup water
1 cup canned tomatoes
1 tsp salt
1 No. 2 can peas
8 oz. noodles, cooked until tender
Heat butter in skillet, add meat and stir until very
just browned; do not overcook. Add onion, water, tomatoes and salt; cover
and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add peas with their liquid, and cooked noodles; and
cook uncovered, stirring frequently 10 to 15 minutes longer, or until most of
the liquid has evaporated.
Test for seasonings and serve hot.
